Dr. Mst. Minara Khatun is a Professor of the Department of Microbiology and Hygiene, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh-2202, Bangladesh. She is a Graduate in Veterinary Medicine from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh-2202, Bangladesh 2000. She did Master’s in Veterinary Public Health and Food Hygiene (same Academy, 2001) and Ph.D from Chonbuk National University, South Korea, 2010. She was a Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology and Hygiene, BAU, Mymensingh, Bangladesh 2002-2005. She was a research fellow at the National Institute of Animal Health (NIAH), Tsukuba, Japan from April-October 2006. She was an assistant professor (Same university, 2005-2010) and associate professor (Same university, 2010-2014). From 2014 until present, She is a Professor of the Department of Microbiology and Hygiene, BAU, Mymensingh-2202, Bangladesh. She was a visiting scholar at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, USA, 2013. She served as Head of the Department of Microbiology and Hygiene, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh-2202, Bangladesh 2016-2018.
Dr. Mst. Minara Khatun research interests is on Characterization of economically important and zoonotic bacterial pathogens of humans and animals. Characterization of food borne pathogens, antimicrobial resistance.
