Dr. Javier Velasco Sarabia, is a Biologist graduate from the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM-X), Xochimilco Unit in Mexico City. He presents us that, he possess the skills and knowledge which allow him to evaluate natural resources, mainly through ecology-specific approaches. Ability to analyze and solve biological problems with a multidisciplinary perspective through the diagnosis, management and planning of the use, conservation and restoration of natural resources. Experience in the implementation of methodologies to structure and develop research projects, field sampling skills, skills in the handling and use of laboratory materials. He has both general and statistical theoretical bases that allow him to understand biological phenomena. Good writing that allows him to produce technical and scientific reports at the country and global level. Experience in lectures and workshops in the different fields of biology. He has an affinity for investigation aquaculture and mariculture research (biological aspects of nutrition, probiotics extracted from its intestinal microbiota, reproduction, immunology, and pathology, quality of gametes (spermatozoa and eggs) and implementation of crops and production of live food for its different phases of the organisms under study). Nowadays his work in National Institute of Fishing and Aquaculture (INAPESCA), generating investigation about the gametes preservation to (short, medium and long term) of eggs and sperm in species endemic and importance commercial, what allows us enable us to manage, manipulate, evaluate the sperm, fertilize efficiently and establish a reproductive status of species, optimizing a high percentage of fertilization in females and increase the seed production and improving fry. On the other hand, he collaborates in National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM) in the elaboration of feed (pellets) of origin vegetable, likewise biotechnical development of food enrichment (Nutraceuticals, Prebiotics and Probiotics), for the survival, growth, reproduction and welfare of aquatic organisms in cultivation.

Dr. Javier Velasco Sarabia research interests are Biology and development of technologies for the cultivation of freshwater and marine fish (Biological aspects of nutrition, reproduction, immunology, pathology, quality of gametes (sperm and eggs) and implementation of crops and production of live food).
