Biography

Dr. Lalu Prasad Yadav born in a farmer’s family on 12th November, 1988 at Arniya village of Sikar District of Rajasthan. He did his B.Sc. (Ag.) Hons (2009) and M.Sc. Hort.-Vegetable Science (2011) from Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, and Ph.D. in Vegetable Science from CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hissar, Haryana in 2014. He was elected as College President during 2010-11. He has qualified ICAR (ASRB)-NET in 2011 and 2012. Dr. Yadav joined the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) as Scientist-Vegetable Science on 1st January, 2015. Presently, he is working at Central Horticultural Experiment Station (ICAR-CIAH) Godhra-Vadodara Highway, Godhra, Gujarat. At present he is handling two projects for improvement in vegetable crops for dryland semi-arid regions. Dr Yadav received different awards at national and international level including young scientist award, best poster presentation award, best oral presentation award etc. Besides these, he has published more than 25 research articles in the form of research papers, popular articles in English and hindi, leaflets, book chapters and abstracts at national and international level.


Research Interest

Dr. Lalu Prasad Yadav is contributing ostensibly vegetable research like Ivy gourd, Spine gourd, Bottle gourd, Pumpkin, Tomato, Drumstick, and beans. He has developed three varieties: Thar Harsha (Drumstick), Thar Kavi (Pumpkin) and Thar Annant (Tomato) and recommended for dryland semi-arid areas.
