Dr. Zinaida Zagdyn M graduated from The First Leningrad Medical Institute by Pavlov, Russia as a general clinician (1988). After graduation she was specialized in TB and started career as a TB doctor in Leningrad Region TB Dispensary and as a Tutor of TB at the TB department of Saint-Petersburg State Medical University by Pavlov (Russia) and in Military Medical Academy by Kirov (Russia). In 2003 has got PhD in the field of phthisiopulmonology. In 2006-2007 passed internship at Yale University (USA) in the field of public health with relation to HIV-infection. Afterwards worked as a Deputy Head Doctor at the Leningrad Region AIDS Center and last 7 years is working as a senior research scientist at the scientific-research department (HIV/TB field) in Saint-Petersburg Federal State Research Institute of Phthisiopulmonology of Health Ministry of the Russian Federation (Saint-Petersburg, Russia).
Dr. Zinaida Zagdyn M Research Interest is in HIV-infection, TB and HIV/TB, especially in the high vulnerable groups as commercial sex workers, drug users, minorities, etc. Has a long term experience in TB and HIV/TB clinical topics, including evaluation of causes of death in HIV/TB co-infected patients, clinical and postmortem diagnostic disparities.
