Dr. Siddharth (Sid) Jain, graduated from medical college in India in 2007. After working 2 years as a primary care physician, he decided to continue his education in Public Health. In 2011, he obtained a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities with a concentration in Public Health Policy, Analysis and Management. During his Masters, his focus was on learning the structure of Healthcare market and determinants of cost in the United States Healthcare system. He continued his studies in the Doctor of Public Health Program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and graduated in 2017. He studied the insurance market, social programs that drives the healthcare system and cost during his program. He gained interest in learning the comparative effective analysis in his doctoral program practicum training. He published research on the cost-effectiveness of a screening program for pregnant women and outcomes of preterm birth. His work expands to include analyzing physician characteristics and their association with outcomes in patients who were diagnosed with head and neck cancer. His research and work interests include health disparities related to race and socioeconomic status, and decision analysis including cost-effectiveness and comparative effectiveness analysis for policymakers. He joined and currently working at the Center for Outcomes Research at Childrenís Hospital of Philadelphia since 2017 as a Research Scientist. His work at the center includes studying racial disparities and outcomes in Colon cancer patients. He is also involved in other research at the center analyzing health outcomes in various populations. In 2019, he joined Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania as Senior Research Fellow.
