Biography

Dr. Spomenka Kidemet-Piskac, born in 1970, from Varaždin, Croatia, graduated in 1995 at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, Croatia. Since 1998 she has been employed in the General Hospital Varaždin, first as a resident, since 2004 as a neurologist. She completed a doctoral study in Biomedicine and Healthcare, at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb (2018 PhD degree, Field Clinical Neurology). She also completed education at University Clinic Zagreb, Croatia: Electromyoneurography and Extracranial and transcranial duplex sonography. Since 2008 as Principal Investigator conducts clinical studies in the area of multiple sclerosis, stroke and dementia. She is a regular participant of various professional courses and numerous congresses in Croatia and abroad. She is author or co-author of more professional and scientific articles in international and domestic journals.


Research Interest

Dr. Kidemet-Piskac's current research focus is on the quality of life of patients with multiple sclerosis and the treatment of disease. Also she is foccused at the potential biomarkers to distinguish different forms of dementia, especially Alzheimer's dementia and vascular cognitive impairment.
