Dr. Hisham Arab graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 1979, and completed his postgraduate training in obstetrics and gynecology in Canada, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 1987. Dr Arab is now a Senior Consultant Obstetrician Gynecologist and Perinatologist and Director of the Women and Fetal Health Program at the Dr Arab Medical Center, a private practice in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia specializing in Maternal Fetal Medicine, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, and minimally invasive surgery. Dr Arab has published extensively on topics related to women’s health including diabetes, endometriosis, genital infection and hygiene, infertility and menopause. He is Editor of the Donald School Journal of Ultrasound and Saudi Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He Led 4 Guidelines Committees with publication on: 1) Female Genital hygiene in the Middle East and Central Asia, 2) Management of Miscarriage in Saudi Arabia, 3) The Saudi Algorithm for Ob/Gyn Thromboprophylaxis, and 4) Management of Iron Deficiency in women in Saudi Arabia. Dr Arab is a Founding Member and Former Secretary General of the Saudi Obstetrics and Gynecological Society, Member, World Academy of Perinatal Medicine, Executive Board Member of the International Society of Gynecologic Endoscopy, Chairman, Arab Maternal Fetal Medicine Expert Group, Chairman of the Saudi Endometriosis Group, and Visiting Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York, NY, USA.
