Biography

Dr. Faiz Tuma is an associate professor of surgery and associate surgery program director at Central Michigan University College of Medicine. In addition to his minimally invasive and robotic surgery interest and practice, he is a distant and technology educator currently pursuing a doctoral program in educational technology with Walden University. He have already completed a diploma in medical education, a master in distance education, and a specialty degree in educational technology. He have published more than 25 PubMed indexed publications. He currently assist as an Editor in Chief with Statpearls.


Research Interest

Dr. Faiz Tuma main interests are minimally invasive, robotic surgery, medical education, and educational technology. He have a current educational technology grant project submitted to Intuitive, multiple research projects and proposals on Using Audience Response System in Surgical Education, Surgical Irrigation Fluid Assessment Accuracy, Instant Feedback on Operative Performance of Surgical Trainees, and Incidence of Acute Constipation Treated With Surgical Resection.
