Dr. Mariel Tavares de Oliveira Prado Bergamo is a Ph.D. Student at the University of Sao Paulo (USP). She is a member of the Brazilian Society of Dentistry Research and member of the International Association for Dental Research. She obtained her DDS degree and Masterís degree in dental science at USP. She received initial training in the culture of cell (stem cell and fibroblast from pulp tissue) and photobiomodulation therapy with a low-level laser that led to six awards in this area. Moreover, she started to work with the angiogenesis pathway and cell differentiation that gave her the opportunity to study abroad and to be a Research Scholar at the University of Michigan with a brilliant professor at this area. She has 13 published articles, 31 published abstracts, more than 50 presentations at Meetings and more than 10 awards in different areas of the dentistry. Her main investigations involve the primary culture of stem cell from dental pulp, angiogenesis and, photobiomodulation therapy.
