Biography

Dr. Valentina Sarao is Assistant Professor at the Department of Medicine-Ophthalmology at the University of Udine. She received her medical degree from the University of Udine, where she also completed the ophthalmology residency in 2009. She is actively involved in retinal clinical research and is currently an investigator in many international, multicenter clinical trials on antiangiogenic and newer drugs, and delivery systems. She is a member of numerous professional societies, including The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the American Academy. As well as publishing over 30 original articles, she is a scientific reviewer for many journals. Her major scientific interests focus on advancements in imaging technology, and in diagnosis and treatment of retinal and macular pathologies She addresses her research interests as an invited speaker at national and international symposia.


Research Interest

Dr. Valentina Sarao Research Interests are diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema, retinal vein occlusion, age-related macular degeneration, cataract, glaucoma, retinal dystrophies, anti-VEGF agents, steroids, new drugs and delivery systems.
