Dr.Mandhar Almaqbali had graduated from college of medicine, Ministry of Health in 2010.He joined psychiatry program at Oman medical specialty board (OMSB) in 2012 and graduated in 2017.Throughout the residency at OMSB , Dr.Mandhar had excellent academic performance and always with top scores in written and clinical examination.He maintained respectful relationships with his colleagues and participate actively in the teaching of medical student and other scholarships activities. He was elected to be the chief resident in 2014 and won the best resident award in 2015.Dr.Mandhar had published many papers in the past 5 years especially in topics related to geriatric psychiatry, consultation liaison psychiatry and stigma of mental disorders. After graduation, Dr.Mandhar worked as a mental health specialist in Sohar hospital and Sohar polyclinics.He was chosen to be mental health focal point in Albatinah governorate, Oman. He works with the decision makers to tailor plans for mental health in the governorate. He works very hard to promote mental health and de-stigmatize mental illness. Dr.Mandhar is a local and international speakers and participated in many conferences as a speaker in Jedda (KSA) ,Madrid (Spain) , Muscat (Oman) and Doha (Qatar) .Also he is a reviewer for psychiatric manuscripts submitted to Oman medical journal. He recently won the best young researcher in ministry of Health, Oman. Finally, Dr.Mandhar is very dedicated to improve mental health teachings in Oman.He authored a book titled “psychiatry finals passport” for medical students. Moreover, he is a guest lecturer at Oman national college of nursing. A bright future is waiting this researcher.
