Biography

Dr. Sheikh Rayees is a pharmacologist, currently working at University of Illinois at Chicago, USA. He has completed his doctoral degree at prestigious CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine and SMVDU, Jammu, India. Dr. Rayees reviews manuscripts for several journals including Cellular & molecular neurobiology, Biocatalysis and agricultural biotechnology, Pharmacognosy Research, Tumor biology and American Journal of Phy, Biochem and Pharmacology.


Research Interest

The focus of Dr. Rayees’s research is to understand the importance of alveolar macrophages in pathophysiology of respiratory disorders like acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome. He has also been associated with evaluating the pharmacological potential of several small molecule inhibitors against asthma and hypertension.
