Dr. Shoaib Ismail, is a senior research scientist/specialist and a university educator with more than 39 years’ experience of work in “Agricultural management under marginal environments”, especially R and D on “Biosaline agriculture”. He also been involved in work on climate change and its impact on food and nutrition security, as well as environmental resource management. He is also an expertise in leading and being members of consortium to prepare country strategic documents on Food Security, Salinity Management Strategy and on Salinity Management & Production systems. He worked in many dryland regions of the world and had active collaborations with international and national systems in CAC, SEA, MENA and SSA regions. He published numerous scientific articles in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings, as well as feasibility and technical reports. He retired in the month of October 2017 and undertaking short-term consultancies and leading/member of review teams. Prior to his work at International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), he have been associated with the University of Karachi, Pakistan, for 20 years from positions of Research Scientist to Associate Professor.
Dr. Shoaib Ismail is specialize in the management of saltland agronomy with a special interest in integrated systems (forage-livestock and aquaculture-agriculture); Bioenergy from Wastelands; Seawater-Based Agricultural System.
