Dr. Jan Philip Suppelna is a clinical gynecologist with focus on gynecologic oncology and he is interested in all fields of women´s health. His daily work concentrates on cancer and reconstructive surgery as well as on all modern kinds of systemic cancer therapies. He received his medical degree at the University of Wuerzburg, Germany. Dr. Suppelna is an active researcher in the field of oncology, therefore from 2012 till 2017, he worked in the Laboratory for Experimental Plastic Surgery and Oncology, Dept. for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, BG University Hospital Bergmannsheil, Ruhr University Bochum. During more than 5 years he was dedicated in the field of the so called “Host Defense Peptides” and their efficacy fighting against tumor cells. His doctoral thesis entitled “Combination Treatment with a Host Defense-Like Lytic Peptide and Continouus Low-Dose Doxorubicin Inhibits Tumor Growth in a Syngeneic Immunocompetent Murine Fibrosarcoma (BFS-1) Model” was honoured with “magna cum laude” in 2017. Dr. Suppelna presented his research activities on many national and international conferences.
Dr. Jan Philip Suppelna has research interests in all types of women’s health, in gynecology and obstetrics, especially in cancer therapy, as breast cancer, ovarial cancer and cervical cancer as well as in sarcoma treatment with all aspects of therapy modalities (oncologic surgery, reconstructive surgery, chemotherapy & antibodies).
