Dr. Giuseppe Galati is Consultant Cardiologist in Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathies at Heart Failure Centre, Division of Clinical Cardiology, Cardiovascular and Thoracic Department, San Raffaele Hospital and Scientific Institute, Milan, Italy. Despite his young age, he worked at the top Italian University-Hospitals. He is recognized as a national and international expert in the field of Heart Failure and Cardiomyopathies. He earned the Official Italian Second Level Master in Clinical Competence in Heart Failure 2017 - Organized by the University of Florence and by the Italian Association of Hospital Cardiologists (ANMCO). He is certified since 2016 as expert in the field by the Heart Failure Association (HFA) of European Society of Cardiology (ESC): Certification of Competence in Heart Failure. He is performing the Postgraduate Course In Heart Failure London. Organized by the Zurich Heart House and endorsed by the British Society for Heart Failure & by the British Cardiovascular Society; based on the curriculum of the ESC Heart Failure Association (HFA). Furthermore, he is certified by the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) of European Society of Cardiology (ESC): Level 1 certification in Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (CMR). He dedicated particular interest in Heart Failure, Cardiomyopathies and rare genetic cardiovascular diseases responsible for sudden cardiac death. In particular, he is considered an expert of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, restrictive and infiltrative cardiomyopathies (especially: cardiac amyloidosis and sarcoidosis). He managed hundreds of patients with cardiac amyloidosis with his Mentor: Prof. Rapezzi. He made studies of cardiovascular pathology on advanced heart failure responsible for heart transplantation. Since 2013, he leads a research project on myocardial fibrosis and on pathophysiology of end-stage hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He built up his expertise in the field of Advanced Heart Failure, Heart Transplantation and Ventricular Assist Devices (both in adults and in children) at Heart Transplantation and Advanced Heart Failure Centre of Bologna (Mentor: Prof. Grigioni) He is involved in many research trials on Heart Failure, with the main aim of developing new therapies and new hopes for patients with heart failure and in particular with advanced heart failure (GALACTIC Trial, PARALLAX Trial, COMMANDER-HF Trial, ARIADNE, BLITZ-HF) but also in preventive cardiology (FOURIER Trial).
