Biography

Dr. Amit Kumar Verma completed his undergraduate studies (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) at G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, India and received his M.V.Sc. degree in Veterinary Epidemiology from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, India and PhD degree from Uttar Pradesh Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidhyalaya Evam GoAnusandhan Sansthan (DUVASU), Mathura, India. He has also received Post Graduate Diploma in Bioinformatics from Bioinformatics institute of India; and Postgraduate diploma in Business Administration from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning, India. To date, he has as many as 200 review articles, research papers, clinical article, short communications, and lead papers, chapters in manuals, training lectures and abstracts/papers presented in national and international seminars in his credit. He has also written various course manuals and training manuals till date. He has honor of being editor/ associate editor/member of editorial board of many national and international journal of reputes along with reviewer of more than 10 national and international peer reviewed journals. He has been awarded Best research paper award, best oral presentation awards, best review paper awards in various International and National seminars and conferences. He has guided a number of postgraduate and PhD students. He is also member of various scientific societies in India.


Research Interest

Dr. Amit Kumar Verma research interest focuses on several issues including epidemiology and surveillance of veterinary and other zoonotic pathogen. His special interest in on understanding the molecular epidemiology of Foot-and-mouth disease, IBR, Campylobacteriosis, MRSA, brucellosis, IBR, canine parvovirus and mycoplasma in veterinary field and the study of resistant genes and its relation to the emergence of resistant pathogens.
