Biography

Dr. Mauricio Baldissin is Director treasuer of Associação Brasileira de Medicina Antroposófica (ABMA), 2018-2019 and Instituto Ita Wegman do Brasil – Project Development Director, Brazil. MD, Neurosurgeon and Anthroposophical Doctor. He did his Master of Science degree from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) School of Medical Sciences, Campinas, SP, Brazil. Professor at the Department of Surgery, Faculdade de Medicina de Jundiaí (FMJ), Jundiaí, SP, Brazil. Head of Clínica de Neurodiagnose & Neuroterapêutica, Jundiaí, SP, Brazil. Dr. Baldissin graduated from the Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM) School of Medicine in 1989 and has worked as neurosurgeon since 1994. He was granted a Master's degree in Neurology in 2013 by the UNICAMP School of Medical Sciences. PhD student in neurosurgery at Paulista School of Medicine - Federal University of São Paulo – Unifesp, in 2017. In 2003 he obtained the certification as anthroposophic physician. He conducts research on the clinical and surgical treatment for medically refractory epilepsy and for several years has studied and applied integrative therapeutic practices. He authored the book Percepções Humanas: antroposofia e neurociências, which was published in São Paulo in 2014 by Editora Antroposófica and in Madrid, Spain, by IAO Arte Editorial under the title Percepciones Humanas: antroposofía y neurociencias. He has published articles in scientific journals, has written the foreword and presentation of several science books; he is quoted in newspaper and electronic media articles, is a frequent lecturer and speaker, and over the years has taught over a hundred courses. He is the head of the Clínica de Neurodiagnose & Neuroterapêutica, in Jundiaí, São Paulo, which he founded in 1994 and where he applies integrative therapeutic practices that are focused on human development. At his clinic he also leads a group for anthroposophical studies. He teaches at the Department of Surgery of the Faculdade de Medicina de Jundiaí (FMJ), at the Associação Terapêutica de Estimulação Auditiva e Linguagem (Ateal). He is attending physician at the Centro de Reabilitação de Jundiaí (CRJ) and neurosurgeon at the Serviço de Verificação de Óbito da Capital (medical examiner's office) of the Universidade de São Paulo (USP). He is full member of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), Federación Latinoamericana de Sociedades de Neurocirurgía (Flanc), Sociedade Brasileira de Neurocirurgia (SBN), Academia Brasileira de Neurocirurgia (ABNc), Associação Brasileira de Médicos Antroposóficos (ABMA), International Federation of Anthroposophic Medical Associations (IVAA) and the General Anthroposophical Society (GAS) through the Medical Section of the School of Spiritual Science at the Goetheanum.


Research Interest

Dr. Mauricio Baldissin research interests are neurosciences, perceptual development, neuroimaging for diagnosis of neurological disorders and for strategies in neurosurgical approaches.
