Mr. Rui Miguel Da Silva Mota graduated with a BSc Honors Degree in Cardiopneumology (Clinical Physiology) in 2003 and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Administration of Health Services in 2004. He is an Experienced Registered Clinical Physiologist in Cardiology with 16 years of practice and Specialist training in Clinical Echocardiography (Paediatric and Adult TTE including Congenital heart disease). He is also a fully trained physiologist in Transoesophageal, Stress echocardiogaphy and Vascular sonography. He has been an Educational Supervisor and Mentor for Physiologists, Cardiology Fellows and Registrars with a broad knowledge on echocardiography protocols of different echo associations and societies worldwide. Currently he holds 9 accreditations in Echocardiography, including American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (in Fetal, Paediatric and Adult Echocardiography), European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (Certifications in Adult TTE and both Paediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Disease). British Society of Echocardiography accreditation in Adult transthoracic Echocardiography. Also through Cardiovascular Credential International in USA, he gained the Registered Advanced Cardiac Sonographer, the Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer and Registered Cardiac Sonographer credentials. Rui has attended a large spectrum of scientific meetings over the years, remaining up-to-date with the latest research and technology in the field of clinical echocardiography as well as previously presenting echocardiography cases in scientific meetings in his home country. He is a Professional member of the European Society of Cardiology and is registered with worldwide associations such as American Society of Echocardiography, European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging, British Society of Echocardiography and Canadian Society of Echocardiography. To conclude, he currently has a project to start a PhD in Congenital Heart Diseases.
Mr. Rui Miguel Da Silva Mota Research Interests are Transthoracic Echocardiography, Congenital Heart Disease, Transesophageal and Stress Echocardiography. Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support, Heart Transplantation, Cardiomyopathies, valvular disease, Cardiac surgery and multimodality imaging.
