Dr.Premanand Ponoth is an established Cardiothoracic Surgeon for the last 25 years now stationed at The Karen Hospital, Nairobi, Kenya as the chief of CTVS.He had his initial training in India followed by his residency in Cardiothracic&vascular surgery At Green Lane Hospital, Auckland, NZ and Royal Adelaide Hospital, Adelaide, Australia, followed by his fellowship at St. Vincent`s Medical Centre, Portland and Oregon Health and Science University, Portland, OR, USA. He is a Visiting Prof. to School of Medicine, University of Najaf, Iraq and a Hon. Prof. to MGR Medical University, Chennai, India. He is a research guide to post graduate students and also a visiting Cardiothoracic Surgeon to the Cardiac Centre for the Govt. of Mauritius. Dr.Ponoth has many presentation and publication both local and international conferences and journals. He is also member of the editorial board to Journal of Cardiothoracic Medicine and Surgery, Journal of Physicians of Kenya, Speciality Medical Dialogue, Review editor for Indian Journal of Thoracic and Cardio vascular Surgery.Dr.Ponoth is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, International College of Surgeons.
Dr.Premanand Ponoth Research Interests are Adult Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery: Beating Heart bypass Surgery (OPCABG),Surgical management of Chest Trauma, Lung Surgery, Heart valve surgery especially in rheumatic heart diseases, Vascular surgery in Endo vascular Aneurysm Repair.
