Dr. Nikolaos Bakalis is graduated from the Department of Nursing at TEI of Patras (Greece), has PgDipl (in Education) from Hull University (England), M.Sc.(Nursing) from Manchester University (England) and Ph.D (Nursing) from Hull University (England) in 2001. He has 5 years of professional activity in the hospital area and 3 years of teaching experience at university, while on 2008 was appointed as Assistant Professor at the Department of Nursing at TEI of Western Greece, and he became an Associate Professor in 2017, and President of the Nursing department at 2018. His scientific work is international in scope and includes 41 publications in prestigious international journals, the vast majority of which is the first author and with more than 400 citations (h-index 11). At the same time, he is a member of the Editorial Board and a reviewer in 7 international prestigious scientific journals (two of which are medical). Last but not least, he is participated in more than 100 presentations in national and international conferences.
Dr. Nikolaos Bakalis primary focus of research is mainly related with clinical decision making in critical care, comparative nursing education and the extension role of nurses in clinical practice.
