Biography

Dr. Aamir Sofi is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist at the Mount Sinai Hospital, New York. He did his internal medicine residency at the University of Florida and Cardiology fellowship at the University of South Florida. He was trained in his sub-specialty of Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Icahn School of Medicine (Mount Sinai Hospital), New York, where he subsequently accepted a faculty position. He is involved in multiple national and international research studies evaluating cutting edge techniques for catheter ablation of arrhythmias including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardias, newer therapies for stroke prophylaxis in atrial fibrillation and new techniques of pacing and defibrillation. He has published several scientific research papers, presented at numerous international scientific meetings, and has been invited to speak at several international cardiology conferences. He is also and reviewer for some of the most prestigious international cardiology journals.


Research Interest

Dr. Aamir Sofi Research Interests are Clinical cardiology, catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardias, new pacing techniques, heart failure, and innovative technologies for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation.
