Dr. Antonela Curteza graduated the Faculty of Textile and Garment Engineering from The Technical University of Iasi, Romania, and holds a Doctorate degree in Functions and Comfort of Clothing. She is a full professor at the Knitting and Clothing Engineering Department within the Faculty of Textile - Leather Engineering and Industrial Management. She has initiated and conducted many research and teaching activities that focus mainly on: Design, Sustainable fashion, Creative industries. She has been a PhD supervisor and scientific coordinator of 10 PhDs in the field of Industrial Engineering. Prof. A. Curteza is author and co-author of 11 books having fashion design as main subjects and has authored more than 170 articles published by international and national journals, and international conference proceedings, from which 39 are ISI certified. She took part in 21 national and 9 international research projects; in 16 of them, she held the position of coordinator or project/partner manager. Prof. Curteza is a reviewer for the following ISI magazines: Textile Research Journal, Journal of Industrial Textiles, AUTEX Research Journal and Industria Textila. She was a WP leader of the INTERREG IVC – ORGANZA Project (http://www.organzanetwork.eu/), and one of the research team leaders of the FP7 International Project 2BFUNTEX - MDTs (multidisciplinary teams) on Sustainable textiles (www.2bfuntex.eu).
Her main research interests include sustainable development in fashion, functional textile products for people with special needs, protective clothing.
