Dr. Deepu Mathew is currently working as a Consultant Family Medicine at Primary health care corporation, Qatar and as an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine in Clinical Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, Qatar. After completing MBBS from Bangalore University in India, he had joined for General practice vocational training at East of England Deanery in Cambridge, United Kingdom. After becoming a Member of Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP), he worked as a General Practitioner and Business partner at Stanmore medical group, Stevenage, UK. During this time he completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Cardiology from Middlesex University, London and helped set up community Cardiology follow up clinics in Primary care in his locality. After working as a General Practitioner for 14yrs, he has moved to Qatar to take up his current position. During his time in Qatar, he has finished a Masters in Disaster Medicine form Università degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale, Italy and helped to set up the first complete Emergency Disaster Plan for Primary health care corporation, Qatar. He has a strong commitment to teaching and training undergraduates from various Medical schools in London and Family Medicine residents from East of England Deanery and currently from Weill Cornell Medicine, Qatar.
Dr Deepu Mathew’s research interest includes Disaster planning methodologies, Disaster live drill evaluation tools for Primary health care.
