Dr Abdelaziz Matani is a British based, Biomedical Engineer with extensive working experience in higher education since 1994. He has worked in higher education institutions in different countries such as UAE, Jordan, and the UK, and is currently holding a post as a Biomedical Engineer and Assistant Professor in the College of Engineering at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Saudi Arabia. As well as being an expert in Biomedical Engineering Education and Training, specifically in Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Dr Matani has established expertise in Higher Education Quality Assurance. He is in the directors' panel of Global Education and Training Quest (GETQ) Ltd., a UK based consultancy company. He is also is a director of Respiratory Education Services (RES) Ltd., a USA based consultancy company. Dr Matani has recently published his first invention's patent in the USA and KSA and has filed other inventions, which are well on their way to being published, built and marketed internationally. In addition to serving as a Vice-President of the Consultancy Committee of the Jordanian Engineering Association, Dr Matani has published in peer-reviewed international journals. He has also participated in many regional and international conferences in Technology and Higher Education Quality Assurance; with the most recent being the organisation of the Second International Conference in Communication, Management and Information Technology; ICCMIT'17, www.iccmit.net, University of Warsaw, Poland, March 2017. Dr Matani's PhD is from the University of Surrey (2004), Guildford, UK, his Masterís Degree is from Imperial College, University of London (1993), UK, and his BEng (Hons) is from the University of Lincoln (1991), Humberside, UK. Dr Matani has significantly contributed to the building and running of the colleges and departments he worked in, within the countries mentioned above. For example, he was in the formation committee of the Radiological Sciences Department and its undergraduate programs and he, as the head of the quality unit in the College of Applied Medical Sciences has consulted in the management of eight other healthcare programs. Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University and the aforementioned college in it, have achieved institutional accreditation. Several departments have achieved program accreditation and the successful graduation of hundreds of graduates. With some of them being healthcare professionals and technologists who have successfully served in healthcare establishments, universities, industry and/or carried out their postgraduate studies internationally, to become leaders in their professions within the Kingdom and the GCC region.
