Dr. S. Aishwariya completed her B.Sc. Family and Community Science and Fashion Designing., M.Sc. Textiles and Fashion Apparel., and Ph. D in Textiles and Clothing. She has cleared the UGC-National Level Eligibility Test for Lectureship and currently working as Assistant Professor with the Department of Textiles and Clothing, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women. She is a proficienct and gold medallist in her under-gradation and post-graduation. Textile waste management is her area of specialisation. Her doctoral work was funded by the Government of India, through the Department of Science and technology (DST-INSPIRE Fellowship-AORC scheme). She also has been a part time consultant to various industries implementing her doctoral work. She has industry experience by being a Production co-ordinator with a global sourcing company. Aishwariya was awarded with “Young Scientist Award-2011” by the Home Science Association of India, Lucknow. She also won the award for “Best Oral Presentation” in the International congress on Environmental research, Surat, India. The doctoral work was presented in the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi, during the International Conference on “Textiles – a decade ahead”. Various credentials were also earned for paper presentation, oral presentation, cookery, photography, draping, pencil sketching and Rangoli. She has been invited speaker to Seethalakshmi College of Arts and Science, Trichy to enlighten on the topic, “Current Trends in Fashion”.
Her area of research interest are sustainable production, recycling and upcycling, waste management, eco-friendly textiles. Other areas of interest and passion encompasses of Fashion, Design, Textiles, Clothing, Traditional Textiles, Fashion illustration and Computer Aided designing. She has been serving as a reviewer in National and International Journals.
