Dr. Tigist Tesfaye is an Assistant professor in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care where she is currently working as an Emergency Directoriate and Department head of Emergency and critical care at Saint peters Specialized Hospital (SPSH) Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Dr. Tigist Tesfaye did her undergraduate medical school at Jimma University and recieved her Medical degree(MD) in 2015, After which she joined the residency program in Emergency and Critical Care at Addis Ababa University, Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital and graduated this year. She is Highly-motivated, team-oriented and compassionate person who loves to take care of patients and has a passion for what she do. Her work experience, professional background and extra-professional activities have their roots in her dedication towards her career as a MD as well as in Emergency and Critical Care consultant. Working as an emergency care physician is the most desirable choice she had made in her life. She strive to provide the highest quality of emergency care through complete investigation, evaluation, and treatment while delivering focus, compassion, support, and sincerity. She is responsible for daily rounds, bed side teachings for nurses, interns, General pratitionairs, as well as residents on: Emergency cases, approach to any critically ill patients as well as ATLS, ACLS, BLS and PALS. She had gained multiple experience through many conferences attended in Ethiopia as well as African countries which she believe helped him to how to lead her team in the ER.
Dr. Tigist Tesfaye's primary focus of research is mainly related with the basics of emergency medicine as well as critical care. Ethiopia is moderately new for this field. so Dr. Tigist Tesfaye want to focus on Emergency Medical Services/Prehospital Care, Disaster managment, Cardiovascular and pulmonologic emergencies, Trauma, Air ambulance as well as rehabilitation.
