Biography

From 2015 until now, Dr. Olga Vasovic is an Associate Research Professor at School of Medicine University of Belgrade. From 2012. until now she is holding lectures in the field of geriatrics, endocrinology, diabetology and cardiovascular diseases for doctors specializing in general medicine In 2014, Dr. Vasovic obtained her Subspecialty degree in Endocrinology at Clinical Centre of Serbia, School of Medicine, University of Belgrade. In 2013, she obtained a Ph.D. degree – Endocrinology and Geriatrics, with the thesis “C-reactive protein and cardiovascular risk in elderly patients with diabetes mellitus type 2” - School of Medicine, University of Belgrade. In 2013, Minister of Health, Republic of Serbia, awarded her the title – Primarius Doctor. She became a Specialist in Internal Medicine in 2003, at the Clinical Center of Serbia. She finished her graduate studies at University of Belgrade 1990. with excellent marks, and obtained Medical Doctor (MD) degree and Master of Medical Science degree (1999) at the School of Medicine, University of Belgrade. Dr. Vasovic current position is a Head of the Department of Internal medicine at the Institute for Gerontology and Palliative Care, Belgrade. She is an experienced head of the Department with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital and healthcare industry. Dr. Olga Vasovic is a member of many national and international Professional Associations including Serbian Medical Society, where she works as a secretary of the Geriatric Section. She is also a Member of the Assembly, of the Serbian Medical Chamber and Member of International Editorial Board, Journal of Parathyroid Disease; Nickan Research Institute. During her work Dr. Vasovic participated in many research and projects and on behalf of Serbian Medical Society she organized Accredited Symposiums 2017, 2016, 2012. She was a researcher in The Seven Countries Study, 2007-2008.


Research Interest

Olga Vasovic research interests are type 2 diabetes, cure, and prevention in elderly; pathogenesis of insulin resistance in elderly; prevention of frailty; thyroid disorders in elderly; indicators of metabolic and nutritional status in elderly.
