Dr Ayalew Zewdie is an assistant professor of Emergency medicine and critical care graduated from Tikur Anbesa specialized Hospital in 2013.He joined university of Gondar in 2008 and received a medical doctorate degree. He served as a PI on researches related with stroke and peripheral nerve block in emergency room. He is currently working as chief of academic and research affairs at Addis Ababa Burn Emergency and Trauma Hospital (AaBET) which is a branch of St Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College (SPHMMC), Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He also published a case report on use of Ultrasound to diagnose increase ICP in resource limited setting. He gives mentorship for his hardworking emergency medicine and critical care residents and interns on research activities. He worked as an author for “pocket ECG interpretation guide” and “Hospital Based Medical Disaster Response” .He is involved as section editor on African federation of Emergency Medicine (AFEM) hand book . He presented his researches in different conferences. He participated on local institutional and ministry of health level to improve emergency and critical care in the country He is a teacher, a researcher, a leader and clinician.
The primary focus of research in my institution is mainly related with emergency and critical care .Since our country is trying to develop emergency medicine and critical care there are many areas of research starting from pre-hospital ,in-hospital to rehabilitative care .Currently we are working on emergency airway management activities and educational environment related to emergency medicine attachment .The goal of these investigation is to assess the type of airway management techniques and related complications ;and to find the areas of improvement on educational environment in the Emergency department of AaBET hospital.
