Biography

Dr Anand Jeevarethinam graduated from Thanjavur Medical College, India before moving to the UK in 2004 and beginning his training in General Medicine. He has worked in several Centres of Excellence in the UK and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2008. He held a Doctorate (MD, Doctor of Medicine) in Cardiovascular Research from the University College London, June 2018. He involved in a research programme which focused on diabetic patients who, due to their condition, do not display the signs of heart disease until the disease is well advanced. He was part of the team which undertook a major trial called ‘PROCEED’ in which 500 asymptomatic patients with diabetes participated from three NHS centres. Dr Anand Jeevarethinam has published several works on his research field of interest. He has presented abstracts at national and international congresses and has been invited as speaker at seminars and conferences. He has been a ‘Reviewer’ for so many international journals with a particular interest in cardiovascular research.
