Dr. Tamara Klikovac is a clinical psychologist and family/marital psychotherapist. She was employed at the Institute of Oncology and Radiology in Belgrade from 2001 to 2016 mainly at the pediatrics oncology department but at the same time she provided psychological consultations and support for adult cancer patients and their family members. From 2008 until now she has been working at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Psychology where she has been teaching Mental health, Health psychology, Psychological prevention, Psycho-oncology, Pediatric psycho-oncology and Palliative care – psycho-. Her greatest success is participating in oncology practical work for 16 years , being the only psychologist for many years (at the Institute for Oncology and Radiology, and in the entire Serbia) who has been actively and thoroughly dealing (both in theory and practice) with the psychological problems of people suffering from malignant diseases no meter the stage of disease (problems of the sick children and adolescents and their families in particular).She established Serbian Association for Psycho-oncology, according to the model of similar Associations in Europe and world wide. Her devotion to her work, seriousness in her field of expertise and enormous effort, enthusiasm and initiative to introduce European standards in Serbia, both regarding Psycho oncology and palliative care of adults and children. Her professional efforts, great number of seminars and educations she participated in, published papers, initiative she has been taking in order to establish several national psychological-preventive programs for mental health protection of the people suffering from malignant diseases and the members of their families, was the subjects of her research work (majoring with research work „Personality Attributes, Stress Exposal and Coping Strategies in Woman with Diagnosis of Breast Cancer“; finished graduate studies in clinical psychology „Professional stress and burnout syndrome among oncology medical staff“; finished PhD studies with thesis „Psychological reactions of children who are suffering from malign disease and their families“).
