In 1995 Dr. Blum retired from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Blum is very active as Scientific Director of the Path Medical Foundation. Dr. Blum is co-founder and Chairman & CSO of Geneus Health LLC as well as Restoregen, LLC. His concept of Reward Deficiency Syndrome is being embraced by world leaders in science and is part of the DSM –V, ASAM, Sage Encyclopedia if Abnormal Psychology (2017). Dr. Blum is credited with the DRD2 gene discovery and addictive diseases, which has been confirmed in over 4,000 publications from laboratories all over the world. He serves as Editor –in-Chief Journal of Reward Deficiency Syndrome (he coined) and Addiction Sciences ; Co-EIC of Journal of Neuroimaging in Psychiatry and Neurology (USG) and EIC along with George Perry and Rajendra D. Badgaiyan of the Journal of Systems & Integrative Neuroscience. He is currently serving on seventeen other prestigious journal’s editorial Boards including the journal of Current Psychopharmacology and Current Pharm Design. He is an adjunct full professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, Los Angeles USA. Currently he has been named Volunteer Full Professor of the Department of Psychiatry & McKnight Brain Institute University of Florida College of Medicine, Gainesville, Florida and Adjunct Research Professor, Human Integrated Services Unit University of Vermont Center for Clinical & Translational Science, College of Medicine, Burlington, VT and Wright University. He is honorary lifetime full professor of Psychology at the Eotvos Lorand University, Hungary. He currently serves as Chief Scientific Advisor for Dominion Diagnostics, LLC North Kingstown Rhode Island, Nupathways Inc. and The Shores Treatment and Recovery Center and Summit Estates Recovery Center. He has published over 550 articles, abstracts, chapters, 17 books, numerous patents and received many awards (Life-Time Achievements) for his seminal discoveries. He is the founding President of United Scientific Group (USG). He was educated at Columbia University, Rutgers University System and New York Medical College.
