Biography

Dr. Michele Di Mauro Born in San Giovanni in 1973, graduated with honors at the "G. D'Annunzio "of Chieti-Pescara in 1999; specialized with honors in Cardiac Surgery at the same University in 2004 (Director Prof. Antonio Calafiore); specialized with honors in Cardiology at the University of L'Aquila in 2015 (Director Prof. Maria Penco); PhD with honors in Clinical Medicine and Public Health - Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of L'Aquila in 2017 (Director Prof. Maria Penco); fellowship in 2003-2004 at the Bristol Heart Institute of the University of Bristol in England (Director Prof. GD Angelini). Teaching activity Invited Professor of Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery and Methodology of Clinical Research at several National and International Institutions, currently holds the role of Cardiac Surgery Lecturer at University of L’Aquila. Fellowship on Endocarditis at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands (Prof. Roberto Lorusso). Author and co-author of hundreds of scientific publications, focusing more on the diagnosis and treatment of valvulopathies, heart failure and ischemic heart disease. Member of the following Scientific Societies: SICCH (Italian Society of Cardiac Surgery); SIC (Italian Society of Cardiology); EACTS (European Society of Cardio-thoracic Surgery); ESC (European Society of Cardiology); ESC-HF (European Society of Cardiology for Heart Failure); STS (American Society of Thoracic Surgery). Member of the following Study Groups: GIROC-SICCH, Research Group for Outcome in Cardiac Surgery (as senior biostatistic); GdS SIC Echocardiography; GdS SIC Valvulopathy; ESC Council on Valvular Heart Disease; ESC WG on Cardiovascular Surgery.
