Jim Hartland is Head of Psychology and Head of Year at The British School of Beijing, China. After graduating from Worcester University, he moved to Beijing to work in different local schools and colleges. After completing further educational qualifications from the University of Buckingham, he started the current Psychology course at his current school. He developed numerous Psychology courses at both secondary, GCSE, A-Level and IB levels. Having taught Psychology for over 8 years at all levels, he is well versed in making the Psychological world accessible to young adults. He is currently completing his MA in Psychology at Roehampton University with a focus on mental health in the educational setting. He has set up numerous positive schemes to help address mental health and raise awareness of the issues faced by students. His particular focus is on the cultural variations of mental health for students in different countries and he intends to follow this direction for his next research.
