Giancarlo (alias Giovanni) Vesce is full professor of Veterinary Anaesthesia at the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Productions of the University of Napoli "Federico II", Italy. Summa cum laude degree in Veterinary Medicine (1974), Resident in Veterinary Anesthesia at the University of Pennsylvania (1976-78). Full professor of Veterinary Surgery at the University of Napoli from 2000. Member of several national and international professional associations and institutions, Dr. Vesce is High-level expert of Animals in Biomedical Research at European Medical Research Council and member of diverse animal ethical committees. Dr. Vesce holds two agreements of cooperation in anesthesia between the University Federico II and the veterinary school of the University of Pennsylvania, as well with the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Director of Postdoctoral Course in Anesthesia, Resuscitation and Intensive Care of Companion Animals (ARTIAC). Founding member and Coordinator of the SIAARTI Study Group in Animal Anesthesia (SIAARTIVet). Resident member of Academia Pontaniana. Dr. Vesce is author or co-author of over 100 research articles in the field of veterinary surgery and of anesthesia, reviewer of SLEEP Journal and editor of International Journal of Primatology & Research (IJPR) and of Anaesthesia & Critical Care Medicine Journal (ACCMJ).
