Carlos Sánchez Salguero has completed his PhD at the age of 23 years from Cadiz University and Postdoctoral studies from Cadiz University Hospital and School of Medicine. After the fellowship in Pediatrics, he was appointed as Head of Pediatric Service in a comarcal hospital during ten years in which developed the Allergy Section. Since 2008, he is the Head of the Pediatric Allergy Section in the University Hospital Puerto Real at the south of Spain. During the first year of this appointment, the function was support of different areas, especially neonatal unit, maternal unit and pediatric inpatient. In 2009 he began to develop the Pediatric Allergy and Neumology Unit, in first place training nurses in different techniques as spirometries, exhaled oxide nitric test, control oral challenges test food (COCTF) with all the aliments, desensitization food allergy techniques. During the last year we did 250 COCTF with milk, egg, fish, hazelnut, meat and different vegetables. After one year the Pediatric Allergy Daycase Hospital was inaugurated, we began to do these techniques. In 2010, he began with the first patients with milk allergy and high risk of anaphylaxis (actually we had more than 55 patients desensitized) and in 2013 with egg desensitized (actually 20 patients). During the first months of 2016, the unit, which he lead, is going to start a new research study, together with other hospitals in Spain, to evaluate the possibility to desensitized child with hake allergy. Finally, in 2014 we began the activities of the Medicament Allergy Unit, with special objective in child with Amoxicillin allergy and Ibuprofen allergy. Until 2015 December, the Pediatric Allergy Unit conducted 100 controlled oral challenges test medicament. In the last year, he had been one of the national reviewers of Anaphylaxis Guideline and Severe Pediatric Asthma Consensus, co-author of the First Guide of Pediatric Anaphylaxis and the Allergy Unit is one of the members of NORA (Network for Online-Registration of Anaphylaxis). Actually he collaborate with different hospital all over the world in developments of techniques for food allergy desensitization.
Carlos Sánchez Salguero Research Interests are Pediatric Clinical Immunology and Allergy, Master in Allergy by IE Business School, Pediatric Allergology (European Board) by European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, PALS and NALS Instructor and Professor of Pediatric in School of Medicine with Advanced Level Quality Accreditation in Pediatric Hospital and the Treasure of Spanish Society of Pediatric Allergy Asthma and Clinical Immunology.
