Biography

Dr Gayan Bowatte is an early career research fellow at the Allergy and Lung Health Unit, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne, Australia. His main interest of research is environmental epidemiology, especially air pollution and respiratory health. Gayan was awarded his PhD by the University of Melbourne in 2017. To date he has published over 27 peer reviewed papers with 11 first author ones, and he was invited to present his research in a number of national and international conferences. His current research investigates effects of long term exposures to air pollution and green space on lung health and allergies in Australian children and adults.

Research interests are: Environmental epidemiology, lung function, asthma, allergies, air pollution, greenness, gene environment interactions.
