Dr. James B. Ames is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Davis. He received a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Michigan in 1986 and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 1992. Dr. Ames was awarded an NIH postdoctoral fellowship and completed his postdoctoral studies at Stanford University School of Medicine (1993-1996). His publications include 7 book chapters and over 100 papers in peer reviewed journals. His awards include the James B. Angell scholarship, Beckman Young Investigator award, and AAAS Fellow award in 2016.
