Biography

Dr. Shafaq Fatima she completed her PhD in Aquaculture from School of Aquaculture, University of Tasmania, Australia. She has vast experience of handling animals, lab procedures, executing and supervising research projects. She had Over academic career, she completed three research projects as part of my degree (MSc, MPhil and PhD). Partial fulfillment of these degrees was to write dissertations. During write up, she compiled, analyzed, interpreted and presented extensive data collected from trials. Other than dissertations, she has eleven ISI indexed publications and worked as reviewer as well which is proof of my report writing skills. Moreover, she supervised a total of 21 research theses at masters and undergraduate level which enhanced my analytical and writing skills along with high level of computer proficiency. Since last four years, she has been part of multiple administrative committees such as Examination Committee, Admission Committee MS, Prospectus & Website Coordinator, Purchase of Chemicals, Admission Committee Undergraduate, Student Affair Committee and Class Coordinator of first year Undergraduate Program. Working with peers in a team, inter personal communication, task management, meeting deadlines, communication with other departments including academic and administration are the notable skills she learnt over these years other than my research and teaching responsibilities. Other than departmental committees, she is a member of memorandum of understanding with Department of Fisheries, Pakistan and SoyPak, Pakistan. Being in collaboration with other organizations provided me an opportunity to work in environment of diverse approaches and external partners. Furthermore, she is a principal investigator in two externally funded research projects. She takes care of whole process of purchase, audit, lab installation, lab safety procedures, animal ethics approvals, training students executing projects to be completed on time.
