Biography

Dr. Nimet Kabakus is the director of Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology at Abant Izzet Baysal University (Bolu, Turkey). He received his medical degreee from Ataturk University (Erzurum, Turkey) with high honor im 1988. After graduation, he was accepted to the Departmentt of Pediatrics at Selcuk University as a resident, and he finished his residency in 1995. He then joined the Department of Pediatrics at Firat University (Elazig, Turkey) as Asisstant Proffessor. In 1999, Dr. Kabakus started his Pediatric Neurology at Hacettepe University (Ankara, Turkey) where he also gained Associated Proffessor title in 2001. He returned Firat University in 2001, continued as faculty staff till 2009. He gained Proffessor title in 2005. He moved to Bolu in 2010, and joıined to Department of Pediatrics, Abant Izzet Baysal University (Bolu, Turkey), started Pediatric Neurology clinic. He is still the director of Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology and responsible from the out patient and in-patient unit, intensive care unit, EEG lab (15-20 routine and sleep EEG/day), minimal invasive procedures (botox injection, lumbar puncture). He also served as head of Ethical Committee at Abant Izzet Baysal University between 2010-2016. He is distinguished as one of the top Pediatric Neurologist related to Epliepsy diagnosis and management with over 40 peer-reviewed international publications, over 60 national publications. He is a member of Turkish National Medical Board Examination and Fellowship Selection Examination Committee, Turkish Pediatric Neurology Association, Turkish Pediatric Association, National Pediatric Association, American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is also meber of editorial board of Journal of Pediatric Neurology.

Dr. Nimet Kabakus's primary research areas are Pediatric Epilepsy, Pediatric Sleep Disorders, Pediatric Neuromuscular Diseases.
