Dr. Patel earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy at L. M. College of Pharmacy in India in 2000. He then came to United States to pursue his M. S. Pharmacology at St. John's University, New York in 2005 and studied the effects of nicotinamide, taurine and homologs and analogs of taurine on diabetes-related oxidative stress in animal models. From 2009-2014, he pursued his Ph.D. Pharmacology at St. John’s University and studied the metabolic and biochemical interactions of diabetes and alcoholism. Since then, he has held the position of Postdoctoral fellow at University of Houston studying the renal function in salt-sensitive hypertension in obesity implicating beneficial roles of angiotensin-II type 2 receptor and receptor Mas.
