Dr. Maria Teresa is a Pharmacist and Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the School of Pharmacy, University of Coimbra, Portugal. Has a Masters in Food Science and Engineering from the School of Biotechnology, Portuguese Catholic University and a PhD in Public Health and Pharmacoepidemiology from the School of Medicine, University of Santiago de Compostela. She is also a Regulatory Affairs Specialist by Portuguese Pharmacist College. She is a member of several international organizations: ENCePP Steering Group (European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance) - European Medicines Agency, European Association for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Portuguese Society of Epidemiology, Portuguese Pharmaceutical Association. Maria Teresa is Assistant Professor in Aveiro University, Medical Sciences Department, currently she is responsible for teaching classes in the following areas: Public Health, Regulatory affairs, Pharmacology and Therapeutics and is currently supervisor of several PhD and master students. She is an investigator in iBiMED (Institute for biomedicine). Maria Teresa has published 35 articles in the area of Pharmacovigilance, Epidemiology and Public Health, published in ISI web of knowledge and more than 60 oral communications in national and international conferences. Presently she is Editor in 4 International Journals. She is investigator in several projects financed by FCT, CNPq, QREN. In 2012, Maria Teresa received the award for Scientific Research Professor Maria Odette Santos - Ferreira, with the work entitled "The role of the pharmacist in the Portuguese Pharmacovigilance System" and the award for Public Health and Clinic Epidemiology by Medical Science Lisbon Society.
