She serves as reviewer for several international scientific journals.

Research Interest

Dr. Susi Burgalassi research activity is aimed at studying various aspects involving topical pharmaceutical forms, both with local and systemic activity. Her research activity focused on the dosage forms with application to skin, nails and mucosa, with particular regard to ocular and buccal applications. The main aspects investigated were: the evaluation of the mucoadhesive properties of the mucosal formulations; the search for substances capable of modulating the repairing processes of mucous epithelial tissues, particularly of the cornea; the use of substances capable of increasing the bioavailability of drugs administered by topical formulations (permeation enhancing effect), both cutaneous and mucosal application; the study of the toxicity of the formulations.
