Biography

My name is Matthew Galt, and I am a Registered Respiratory Therapist currently working for the American Lung Association and Concordia University St. Paul. I have spent 15 years excelling in the field of respiratory care, working alongside with brilliant minds at Mayo Clinic and multiple other locations. I specialize in critical care, outpatient programs, education programs (staff, patient, and adult learner). Joining EC Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine as an Editorial Panel member would be an amazing growth opportunity for me personally but also bring my global view of what a health care practitioner to the forefront. I am passionate that health care providers like respiratory therapists and nurses must understand how the body entire works instead of simply concentrating on one field. This is the attitude that I bring to my classes at Concordia University, and the health care that I have provided at the beside. I have put myself through university as an adult working full-time, and continually seek new opportunities to learn and grow.

Research Interest

My interests include critical care medicine, specifically ventilator management and trends. Infection prevention is also a passion for me. I understand and see the value of outpatient reach for health care, and feel this just as passionately as critical care medicine. Education in health care, specifically how a health care practitioner can grow to see more than one aspect of their field is a high priority.
