Dr. Sonia Guha is staff scientist in the Jules Stein Eye Institute, University of California at Los Angeles. She is Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the M.S. University, India. She followed this with post‐doc in neurology of retinal diseases from University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia and subsequently the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Guha is interested in both degenerative and developmental diseases of the retina with specific emphasis on neurological determinants. Her research includes elucidating the relationships between neuro‐receptors and lysosomal dysregulation in macular degeneration and state‐of‐the‐art therapeutic strategies. Currently, she studies the developmental eye‐brain axis in ocular albinism and concurrent loss of stereoscopic vision.
