Pharmacy degree at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, 2004-2009) - Brazil, MSc in Biochemistry, UFRGS (2010-2012), Ph.D. in Biochemistry, (2012-2016). Currently, I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biochemistry/UFRGS. My expertise includes research on the pathophysiology and novel treatments (mainly investigating parameters involved with glutamatergic and purinergic neurotransmission systems) of psychiatric disorders, focusing on anxiety and major depression disorders with emphasis on different rodents model of major depression. Additionally, my expertise also, includes neurochemistry, rodent behavioral assessment, and different models of neurodegenerative disorders.
The keywords that define my research interest was Astrocytes, Microglia, Gliotransmission, Major depressive disorder, Anxiety, Mitochondrial homeostasis, Synaptosome preparation, Glutamate neurotransmission, Olfactory bulbectomy, Stroke (Ischemia), Seizures, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson´s disease, Purines, Adenosine, Guanosine; Memory; and Rodent behavioral assessment.
