Dr. Shyamapada Mandal is presently employed as Professor in the Department of Zoology at Laboratory of Microbiology and Experimental Medicine of the University of Gour Banga, Malda-732103, India. Dr. Mandalís current studies focus on molecular epidemiology of bacterial drug resistance, infectious diseases (bacterial, viral and parasitic), combined chemotherapy, phytomedicine and probiotics, nano-biomedicines, public health and food science. He has published more than 75 articles in different national and international journals of repute, along with 7 book chapters with international publishers. He acquired more than 20 years of research and teaching experiences in the field of biomedical sciences. Dr. Mandal got his Ph D degree from Jadavpur University, in 2006, and worked at the Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine, Kolkata, during the period from June 1996 to July 2008, under the guidance of Dr. Nishith Kumar Pal, Professor, Department of Microbiology (Bacteriology and Serology Unit), for his research at different levels: pre-Ph D, Ph D and post-Ph D, at the Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine, Calcutta- 700073, India. He acquired undergraduate teaching experiences from Gurudas College, Kolkata (Calcutta University), and post graduate teaching at the current working institute, University of Gour Banga, Malda, India. He guided more than 35 post graduate students for their individual project work, in the field of Microbiology; currently, 7 Ph D students and 3 M Phil students are working under the guidance of him, in the field of Biomedical Sciences.
