Dr. Hikmet Kocyigit is currently Associate Professor and Chair of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at Izmir Katip Celebi University, Ataturk Training and Research Hospital in İzmir. He was born in 1956 in Denizli, Turkey. He received his training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the Ege University, Turkey (1985). He studies for 30 years in the field of PM&R. He received his title of Associate Professor in PM&R in 2006. He has worked extensively in the area of rehabilitation robotics. He authored several publications, books and participated in international conferences.

Hikmet Kocyigit research Interest are Osteoporosis and metabolic bone disorders, genetic diseases of bones and joints, reliability and validity studies, quality of life, seronegative spondyloarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, evaluation and management of shoulder pain and knee pain.
