Biography

Dr Gibert did his Bsc (major Biology) in France, after that he did my Masters of Science in the Dept of Biochemistry at the University of Limerick (Ireland). After his Master’s degree he undertook a PhD in Developmental Genetics using the zebrafish as vertebrate model in the Lab of Axel Meyer and Dr Gerrit begemann at the University of Konstanz (Germany) After that he did a first post-doc at the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Lyon (France) under an ARC (Association de recherche contre le cancer) fellowship in Vincent Laudet’s Lab. After 3 years in Lyon he moved to Harvard Medical School (Boston, MA, USA) for a research fellowship in the Dept of Hematology/Oncology at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. After 3 years in Boston he established himself as a PI and group leader at Deakin School of Medicine (Melbourne, Australia) where he is a Senior Lecturer and the Head of the Metabolic Genetic Diseases Laboratory using the zebrafish as a vertebrate model organism to study metabolism and metabolic diseases.


Research Interest

Dr Gibert research interest are Developmental genetics, zebrafish, nuclear receptors, lipidomics, lipid biology, obesity, endocrine disrupters
