Biography

Dr. Kenia Bueno holds a doctoral degree in Neurosciences (2015), a master's degree in Cellular Biology (2003), and a bachelor's degree in Odontology (1998), all from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), in Brazil. During her training, has performed research on cellular immunology of the periodontal disease and proteomic of the thalamus of thiamine deficient rats. Since 2006, she has worked as an adjunct professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). She works in the area of behavioral and molecular neurosciences, with emphasis on the biological bases of behavioral processes (learning and memory). In collaboration with the NeuroEduca extension program, she enables educators on the neurobiological bases of learning and disseminates neurosciences in the contexts of education and health as a strategy for promoting the interaction of these areas towards a better quality of life.

Dr. Kenia Bueno's research is focused on Neurosciences, neuroeducation, learning, memory, neurobiological bases of learning and neurodegenerative diseases.
