Jesús Hernán González Cortés attended Medical School at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León School of Medicine, Monterrey, Mexico, completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University Hospital, Ophthalmology Department, UANL, Monterrey, Mexico, his Retina Fellowship at the Retina Department, Eberhard-Karls University, Germany and obtained his Doctoral Thesis at the Friederich-Alexander University, Erlangen-Nurnberg, Germany. He achieved the Mexican Board Certification in Ophthalmology in 1994. Since 2005 he is Professor of Ophthalmology at the University Hospital, Ophthalmology Department, UANL, Monterrey, Mexico. He is member of the Ophthalmology Mexican Society, of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, of EURETINA, of the Northeast Retina Association, of the Mexican Retina Association and of the Nuevo León Ophthalmology College. He was already President of the Northeast Retina Association in 2006 and of the Nuevo León Ophthalmology College in 2010. Currently, he is the Vice President of the Mexican Retina Association. Doctor Gonzalez has participated in multiple Research Projects and published more than 30 original scientific papers. He has been invited to participate as speaker in more than 100 academic Meetings. In several National and International Conferences, he has presented more than 150 original papers, also he has been coordinator of 2 Retina International Meetings and has collaborated in 8 medical and ophthalmology books. He has entitled more than 30 general practitioners and over 50 specialists in ophthalmology, in addition to participating as director in 13 Thesis of residents in ophthalmology and 3 Dissertations.
